How to Apply for Social Security Disability

If you have come to this page you either called and talked to Rangeley Bailey at Jebaily Law Firm, PA about applying for Social Security disability or you think that you should apply for disability. This is your starting point! If you are interested in our representation, PLEASE call us immediately after receiving your first denial. Your time to appeal is limited, and we don’t want anyone to miss their deadline. Please understand this does not mean we represent you or that we will automatically take your case.

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE PAGE BEFORE YOU APPLY.

BE CAREFUL when you google “Applying online for Social Security Disability”. We have many clients who click a link that also signs them up for an attorney. The links on THIS page will take you to the Social Security Administration itself, you will be applying on your own, and you will NOT be paying an attorney to do this for you at this point. IF you are denied, you can then call me to discuss potential representation.

How to Apply for Social Security Disability

From the Social Security site linked above:

You should apply as soon as you become disabled. If you apply for Social Security, disability benefits will not begin until the sixth full month of disability. The Social Security disability waiting period begins with the first full month after the date we decide your disability began.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI), we pay SSI disability benefits for the first full month after the date you filed your claim, or, if later, the date you become eligible for SSI.
